At home, Paul usually gets up with them. I'm eternally thankful for that.
But at the beach, we agreed to switch out days. And since the Atlanta Wamsteds are keeping their Atlanta schedule, Kira and Jay are up with us as well.
And i'll have to admit, the past two mornings that i've gotten to get up early with them have been super sweet.
They've loved playing in the cool sand.
Jay ventured out to the beach with us until John got up the first day. (and this picture is so stinking cute that it's making the blog twice!)
but these two holding hands...wins the prize!
Their first real encounter with the water was priceless, especially Anne Perry's! Can you hear her cackling laugh with excitement here?
But Tuesday, I took the 4 girls out for a while. We followed animal footprints (aka bird tracks) and looked for shells. Then we decided to head out on a short walk in the opposite direction that day only to find this:
And the girls had a blast! They jumped in and climbed out of the hole. The two big girls gained their jumping independence pretty quickly, so Anne Perry thought she could do the same...only to jump into the deepest part of the hole and keep going straight in to the wall of the hole. She got a face and mouth full of sand. And promptly got out and did it again!
And then everyone sat in the hole and made pretend ice cream cones...Kira had M&M, Addie had swirl, and the little girls had whatever flavor the big girls came up with! We even stacked three pretend flavors to make a ginormous ice cream cone!Because isn't that what you do when you're 4, 3, and 2 while standing in a hole on the beach at 6:30am?!?!?
