We have a long time friendship with the owner/manager of Brewbaker Motors. Basically, with the exception of one car I drove in college, we've driven whatever they've sold. We ventured to another dealership at one point. Big mistake. We missed the customer service. We missed the personal service. And we missed the excellent car service!
So in 2007, we naturally went back to Brewbaker this go round again. They had just done a fruit-basket-turnover and moved from being a BMW, Buick, Dodge, Infiniti, Saturn dealership to a Dodge, Kia, Infiniti, Jeep/Chrysler dealership.
I was determined that I wanted a cute little Jeep. I was also determined that I would not be buying a Kia. I mean...a Kia? No way!
Now, there's nothing wrong with Jeeps, but it was not the car for me. I drove a Kia Sorento and I was hooked! Smooth. Drives like a car. Sits like an SUV. Good space. Decent (not great, mind you) gas mileage. Good service warranty. Sold!

Six months after Addie was born, Paul's car died. Again, way more money to fix it than it was worth!
We decided to become a one car family. We gave it a month. By mid October, it will have been a YEAR! It hasn't been without it's challenges; but with everything else that's quit, broken, exploded, imploded, and otherwise given up and died, I'm so thankful we don't have a second car payment!
So yesterday I get Addie loaded up to go get Paul from work. No problems. All of a sudden, I realize I'm really hot and stuffy. Not that that's unusual, but this was! I turn the AC off. Turn it back on. Hot, humid air. I change the temp, change the setting, turn it back off and on. Nothing but hot, humid air.
How on the earth did that happen in the 10 minutes I was in the car?
So today we pick up my mom's car from her at school, drop it at the dealership, take Paul to work, I go back to transfer the car seat and talk with the service manager.
And I get the call: the entire AC compressor has gone out! What? Oh...and by the way, the AC is covered up to 60,000 miles. We're at 63,500! I'm not kidding!
It's almost comical. But it's not!
So the service manager proceeds to tell me that she's called Kia and told them the situation, the mileage, the fact that we're longtime customers. They agree to pay for...get this...all the parts! (That's approximately $500 worth of parts!) The only thing we have to come up with is the labor, and the service manager cut those down too. Plus, we have a $200 service credit from Kia that's still good; and oh...by the way, that should cover it all except a routine oil change!
They are even loaning us a car until the parts come in the end of the week!
I have 3 words: God is good!
Oh...and we'll be buying another Kia when the time comes!
We're so excited that our dear friends Julie, John and Savannah have just moved from being over 8 hours away to being barely 1 hour away for a new job at the Kia plant.
Have I mentioned we like Kia?
