April Showers Bring May Flowers

I realize that I've had way too many posts without pictures recently! So many thoughts running through my head these last few days of being pregnant with twins, having arms that outnumber my children, and juggling only a 2 year old!

Last week I had a lot of energy. I cleaned more than usual, made bows for our hospital door (pictures to come), and planted flowers in our planters outside! I should have been doing laundry, but we had way more fun outside (and I did my 7 loads Wednesday!). I love planting flowers: coming up with combinations, their colors, and the finished product!

I know. I know. You aren't supposed to dig in dirt when you're pregnant, let alone 36+ weeks (then) pregnant; but it wasn't in the yard, and I was almost 100% sure there had not been any cats pooping in my flower pots and I sat to do most of it!

Addie apparently thought planting flowers meant digging dirt out of the flower pot using the plastic stake thingy that tells you what kind of flower you've bought! She was really sweet though and tons of fun! The only problem was that when we went to our friend Anna and Thomas' later that morning, she decided their already planted flowers needed digging in and dug out dirt around their strawberry plant! Oops! Thankfully, no permanent damage was done!

She was so excited to see the flowers! (and yes, pjs and crocs are the ideal planting attire for a 2 year old!)

This was her pot until I finally planted something in it! (she refused to look at me!!!)

TV

So I've tried really hard not to let Addie watch TV. Just recently, I heard (on TV) that it is believed TV (and video games, etc) increase the chances for nearsightedness in children (as well as genetics, of course) and playing outside decreases it (something to do with the sunlight). And what do I look up and find the other day...?

Not only is she glaring at the TV...she has her face 6 inches away from the screen?!?!? I don't know about ya'll, but I sure got told plenty of times to "move back" from the TV when I was growing up because it was "bad for your eyes."

I was intentionally letting her watch Praise Baby while I got us ready to leave, but I had not intended for her to be right up on the screen.

I called her name to get her to look at me. And she turned around like, "Excuse me mom. I don't have time for pictures. I need to get back to these letters and this hamster on the screen!"

Hmmmmm...I think we're in deep trouble!

Fall Leaves

I love fall. I love the temperature. I love the sunshine. And I especially love watching the leaves change. Unfortunately, Montgomery isn't noted for its variety in the tree category. This is what you mostly see in Montgomery:

While pine trees serve their purpose: fast growing, preventing erosion, providing much needed oxygen; they have much to be desired when it comes to beauty! Although they are few and farther between than what you find up the east coast (e.i. more northern cities!), I have noticed recently that Montgomery has its fair share of beautiful trees!

Addie has a rotten cold, and it's rather challenging for her to nap (or sleep in general). It seemed to be a lot easier for her to nap in her car seat today, so we rode around a little longer (you know, since we can fill up our gas tank for half of what we could fill it up for 2 weeks ago!) after she fell asleep. When she woke up, we went and took some pictures. It was a new challenge to carry a baby and take pictures at the same time. But...here are a "few of my favorite things:"
