Cole and Me

Addie met Cole at VBS, and it just so happens that they share the same birthday...March 19th. They are practically the same size, but what we realized was Addie is now officially a shoulder baby and Cole likes to be cradled. They were our only two little babies in the nursery Wednesday night, so we took a few pictures! They were so sweet together, both dressed in blue! We love meeting new friends!

Guard Dog...?

As you know, our dogs (and cats) have been our 1st babies now for over 7 years! It's been an adjustment for them having a 'new' baby usurp their status, but overall, we think they've adapted pretty well! They seem to have enjoyed me being home during the day more (because the dogs get to stay out instead of be in their crate), and everyone seems to want to either lick or love on this new creature! Winston (cat #2) who weighs at least 3 lbs more than Addie, LOVES to attempt to get attention by rubbing on those ever flailing arms and legs! Mollie and Abbey (the dogs) are constantly making sure Addie is ok (with a sniff but usually with a lick). Well, while napping the other day, Mollie decided it was her job to keep an eye on Addie. Here are a few pictures from that.

Addie sleeps so much better on her tummy; but with the warnings out there requiring us to sleep our babies on their backs, I'm always cautious with it. (especially because she doesnt have adequate head control or consistent roll over abilities). So...she's taken a few naps on her quilt on the living room floor here recently. Better there than always in someone's arms! (She did sleep for 2 hours in her crib today though.)

Mollie is about as close as she can get (without getting a "gentle" command)!

VBS

Addie and I have been going to VBS at Landmark for the past few days. Although she doesn't much understand the concept, it's been a great opportunity for her to be in the nursery and me to get to know how the nursery works. She's enjoyed meeting some new friends and seeing her Rie Rie (who's at the front desk).

and my favorite...they always take pictures of the kids with the theme. this year, it's "game day!" she had just woken up, & she finally smiled for the photographer...but we'll have to wait for that one to get developed!

My 1st Babysitter

As many of you know, Kathryn Beck and family are very dear to us. Kat was born when I was 11, and I spent a large part of my middle/high school years babysitting for her and her brother, Charlie. They were both in our wedding as well. Sara, their mom, taught me so much about children!

Well...it only seemed fitting for Kathryn to be Addie's very first babysitter. Unfortunately, after making Kat change a terrible diaper, Addie proceeded to scream for a good while. However, Kat being the fabulous babysitter that she is, handled it most excellently and got Addie to sleep by the time I came back. I never worried one minute! We just hope she'll agree to do it again!

Talking to the Ceiling...or Maybe It's the Fan?

Addie has taken a fascination with the ceiling. We can't decide if it's the shadows from the lights, the fan spinning, or some supernatural being that we can't see; but never the less, she's had some fabulous conversations with several ceilings recently!

Oh the Faces...

I recently discovered a new toy with the help of our friend Allison (who's been blogging a little longer than me!) She's a fabulous photographer and often displays her pictures using a video with music. Well...here's ours: the many, ever changing, and ever expanding array of faces.
