It's that time again...for "Not Me!" Monday. And what a week...
I did
not throw (left handed and gently of course) a shoe at my dog to try to get her to stop humping the cat. I would
never throw anything at my dog! And we'd
never have such obscene behavior in our house displayed by two
different species of pets! Seriously!
I did
not put stamps on the wrong side of 2 envelopes. I don't mean the back of the envelopes...I mean the
left side instead of the
right!!! I did
not peal off both stamps, replacing them in the correct corner using scrapbooking tape to stick one of them down because the envelope somehow got wet. I am not
that incompetent!
I did
not take my daughter to her very 1st day of Mother's Morning Out with
out at jacket! It was certainly
not 55 degrees outside with wind gusts of 20 mph (no...i know it wasnt 27 degrees or anything because who wouldn't have a coat then...but it was chilly for AL!!!) I did
not feel terribly guilty when I saw other children all bundled in their coats. I did
not attempt to at least
appear to be a good mother and wrap her in a blanket only to discover her sippy cup had leaked all over it. She did
not bury her head in my chest in order to avoid the wind on her face. I'd never be so forgetful...you know, given the crazy morning I'd already had and all.
I did
not forget to put my daughter in a disposable diaper before bed and leave her in a cloth diaper
all night. She did
not wake up 3 times (instead of none) during the night in an attempt to tell us this! I was
not totally confused as to why she smelled horrible when she woke up and was all wet. We
always use disposables at night for this very reason! I, once again, did
not feel like a terrible mother for not figuring this out earlier!
And last but certainly not least, I did
not put my child in her car seat and forget to buckle her in. I did
not actually think to myself as I got in the drivers seat how
fast I'd gotten her in the car. I did
not discover this until we were half way across town when I reached back to pat her because she was so happy talking up a storm with so much expression. She was
not talking because she was ecstatic that she wasnt strapped tightly in her seat and she did
not scream at the top of her lungs when I quickly pulled over to buckle her in. I did
not get very strange looks from the kids coming home from school as they walked by our car.
And that was
not strike 3 for me, thus being awarded the "terribly irresponsible, forgetful mommy of the week award!" Thank goodness we've started a new week already!!!
Make sure to check out

not been doing all week!
I always get a kick out of your comments...sharing what you have
not done! So share away...excellent therapy for us all!
Happy Monday!
