Little Dancers

One of the girls most favorite things to do is plug in my iphone and listen to pandora toddler tunes or cedermont kids radio.

But before I can even get things hooked up and started, there are tutus and fairy dresses and ballerina costumes being strewn from one end of the house to the other.

Audrey Kate emerged with a poofy tutu under a fairy dress under a striped ballet skirt under a polka dot tutu.

And how on the earth could I not drag her outside in the evening sun to take pictures!

She played and posed and chewed on a few sticks ;0)

But if you know me, I'm not going to take pictures of one and not the other, especially when I could hear this one begging to come outside!

She was super interested in Addie's music box.

And gave me her serious Anne Perry face!

Addieboo begged to come out and take pictures for who knows why!

She was super silly and periodically would flop over backwards in her chair!

The lighting was to die for! And I loved how she cut her eyes over at me in this next one!

Of course I had a favorite of each girl:

each as unique as they are!

this one might have to go in a frame though!

augusta: Jessica's wedding

We headed to Augusta on March 15th to attend Paul's cousin Jessica's wedding.

Augusta was in full bloom and made Montgomery look practically colorless. Even the yellow coat of pollen was thicker and the wind blew yellow clouds of dust! The reason? Among other things, these gorgeous azaleas!

So we took full advantage of the beautiful color! The girl cousins just happened to sit down all together in the same spot for more than 3.2 seconds!

and Millie quickly added John and we had a pretty awesome picture of all 5 wamsted cousins!

of course, it took no time at all for that to move to eating shoes, pouty faces, tongues out and distracted gazes! But John just kept right on smiling! 

I think this one of the big girls is one of my favorites though. they are SO sweet together!

but these two are simply adorable! i love how john's looking up at his big sister!

we grabbed a few pictures of jay and millie's family, but kira was not about to crack a smile. she really wanted to be down playing with addie!

this was the first wedding i've actually attended in i don't know how long. i've been shooting weddings with allison for over a year now, so it was super hard for me to turn off my 2nd shooter mode. but i did, and even managed to stay incognito for a while and get some pictures of our families without getting in anyone's way!

the little girls look like they were having one serious conversation here...over drinks!

and Addie has really taken an interest in little ones recently. I can't wait to share the pictures of her, Cady and Cady's new baby brother Davis! She's smitten with these new little boys!

there was lots of playing and just chilling before the dancing begin.

even time enough to grab a picture of the wamsted men! handsome you say? why yes, i agree!

but all addie wanted to do was dance! so dance we all did! (she's doing the electric slide out away from the group in the first one. check out ms. gail in the background!)

alone...and with others!

but this picture holds a funny story. Audrey Kate was dancing with Gramma and Papa Al. She was seemingly quite content and enjoying herself. Until she looked up at Gramma. Looked up at Papa Al. Rolled her little eyes. Dropped their hands. Turned and walked away. It was like she was saying: I won't have anymore of this silliness! All 3 of us got a good laugh out of it!

of course, there was a ramp off to the side that provided ample opportunities for running races and acting a bit like swinging monkeys!

but when the ribbon/bell shakers were handed out, it got even sillier! it quickly went from uncle jay silliness...

...to all 4 little girls joining in the silliness while daddy sat trying to keep a straight face!

i intentionally didn't take a single picture of the bride and groom (bc our girls wouldn't stand still long enough to be in one!) or cake/cupcakes or food or others dancing or flowers or table details or anything not related to our little ones that i'd normally shoot at a wedding reception; but as you can see from our crew, it was a fun celebration!

And we decided it was time to take everyone home for bed when the little girls laid down on the floor and practically fell asleep! ♥

Footloose Friday

i dont know what it is exactly about Veggie Tales that makes kids love it.

sure, the characters are cute, the humor is dry (and clean!), and the message is exactly we want our kids to hear (over and over and over!).

but i think it's the Veggie Tales Intro Song that's gotten ours hooked...

Dancing Queens Babies Toddlers!

Cady and Addie have become more like sisters than anything over the past few weeks. Before Mother's Morning Out started, Cady stayed with us for 3 days each week for a couple of weeks. We had so much fun! Now the girls go to MMO two mornings a week, stay late one day for lunch bunch, and stay with me on Wednesday and one afternoon.

We've learned how to get one out of a car seat, throw a diaper bag packed for two over one shoulder, and unbuckle and pick up the other child with one hand, lock the car and make our way to the grocery cart in less than 90 seconds...with a child on each hip. They both love riding in the Pub!ix "car" and have managed to learn not hit each other while sitting so close!

Putting 2 toddlers down for naps at the same time gets smoother everyday. And we've basically got the "feed 2 toddlers at the same time" routine down, all while blocking the dog from eating off anyone's spoon or plate!

The girls love to read, run around the house, play with whatever toy the other one has at the time, swing outside...and dance! Each girl has her strengths, and Addie might be able to jump when she dances; but she can't hold a candle to Cady's dancing! That girl can get down, toddler style!





We are so glad Chad, Mandy, and Cady are in Montgomery. Old friends become new friends! And what a joy to watch our girls grow up as friends!

Seeing Music

There is no denying the fact that Addie loves music! She's loved it since she was itty bitty.

But she's moved from sitting and dancing to standing and dancing!

There's much less clapping now. Her hands seem to be doing more of an artistic interpretation of the music, if I thought that was even possible! It's certainly her interpretation though!

Sometimes it involves bouncing.
Sometimes it involves squatting.
Sometimes it involves swaying.
Sometimes it involves jumping.

Sometimes it involves the bottom half of her body remaining completely still and the top half doing all the dancing!

Sometimes it's completely silent.
Sometimes it's the loudest thing ever!


But the newest move is the head banging. No, she's not head banging in the truest sense. No, you don't need to be concerned. Again, I think it's an artistic interpretation of the music. It's just that sometimes objects get in the way!


And other times it involves a t-shirt and tutu. Lots of prodding. And a failed attempt to hold the camera still while laughing! (This one's a little longer and a little slower than the others...but I couldn't not show you the video with her in a t-shirt and tutu!)

Can you squat in a perfectly seated position while maintaining your balance like that? Yeah...me either!
