3 Month Portraits with DiAnna

We had our 3 month portrait session with DiAnna last weekend. I decided I was not going to stress out about what we could get or not get. We'd get whatever we got!

Well, the little girls let her get a few of them before they decided it was nap time. I think this has to be in my top 5 favorite pictures of these little girls so far!
She also got some sweet ones of them separately.

But I have to admit that I think these are the most special to me right now. THIS is what we see 90% of the time with our little 2 year old. Smiles. Silliness. Sharing her thoughts. Sweet interactions. All around happiness. The first one in the trio below IS Addie, and I love that!

She even went out with DiAnna to her beautiful backyard where she got to climb on some steps. That middle one is our little angel too!
Thank you, DiAnna, for the beautiful pictures of our girls. She even managed to get one of the five of us...which, let me tell you, was a complete and total miracle! Make sure to visit her blog here!

Our Newborn Session

I'm so far behind on my posts!

Last week DiAnna Paulk and Lori Mercer came over for the girl's newborn session, a sweet gift from both of them! It was a beautiful morning, perfect for pictures outside! Addie was fairly overwhelmed and pretty much refused to cooperate at all, but I'm pretty sure DiAnna got some precious shots of her and the girls in the yard.

I love this picture of Addie though!

But this has to be one of my favorites of the girls!
A few months ago, I sent DiAnna a picture of twins that I'd found of another photographers. They had on these adorable stocking hats! She loved them and found these on etsy.com and immediately ordered them with our girls in mind! Isn't this picture adorable!??!??! They look very similar here as opposed to the above picture, which really highlights their differences!
DiAnna's friend Lori had these cute red hats in her prop box. I love the expressions on the girls faces! I cannot begin to tell you the time it took to capture these shots. I knew, to some extent, how time consuming this kind of thing would be; but I had no idea the effort that went into capturing this kind of thing!

Audrey Kate (on the left) has to have the cutest pouty lips! Anne Perry just looks like a little girl instead of a baby here to me!

Abbey, our golden, was in rare form. We had banished her to our bedroom only to find out she had practically torn down the door trying to get out to us. DiAnna somehow (at some point) grabbed this sweet shot of our first baby! Abbey has always been good at flashing those pitiful looking eyes at you, making you feel terribly guilty for not petting her! Here is no exception! I'm so thankful to have this picture of our girl though!

You can see a few more of DiAnna's shots here.

Thank you, DiAnna and Lori, for a fun morning and these precious memories you captured of all our girls!

We Interrupt This Programming...

I have at least 3 posts written and ready to publish, but this one is jumping ahead of them all.
A few weeks ago, we met our friend and photographer DiAnna at a beautiful antebellum home, the Buena Vista Mansion, for a mini-photo shoot. Nothing is mini with a 2 year old. I did not have high hopes for the outcome of this session though because Addie basically wanted to do what she wanted to do when she wanted to do it...

But I should never underestimate the talent of a true photographer! DiAnna never once got flustered with my cranky, uncooperative 2 year old. But she moved faster than I've ever seen her move, and I am once again truly amazed at what she captured!!!

...what a laugh!

...love how playful she was here!

...playing peek-a-boo on the stairs.

...love holding those sweet hands!

 ...so very serious.

...and one of my favorite smile captures!

Thank you DiAnna!

Hellooooooo?

...anybody theeeeeere?

Addie hasn't quite gotten the concept of talking on the phone.

But that didn't prevent our photographer (and friend) DiAnna from capturing some sweet shots of her.

When she mentioned that she needed some little ones to help her capture the concept of communication and that it would include a free session, this photo-craving mama was 1st in line!

So we met DiAnna at her house Monday morning, tutu and purple polka-dotted chair in tow.

Addie decided to be a tad obstinate outside before we went in, pulled away, and bonked her head on the concrete. Ever heard a head hit the concrete. It's not pretty. It will make your stomach turn over. It hurts!

But we were so thankful that it wasn't too hard of a hit; and after a quick cry and a lovie to hold, it didn't seem to phase her (or affect her energy level) at all! The perk of that was it didn't inhibit her from hamming it up for the camera either.
So maybe she understands this whole phone thing more than we think!

Thank you for this fun treat DiAnna!

Woot Woot

We're just slightly excited and just a tad bit proud!

We know our baby girl is beautiful, and we know we have a very talented photographer who captures her perfectly; but it's way cool when somebody else acknowledges that as well!

I'm gonna make you work to figure out what this one's about! :)

Now can I hear a "Woot Woot!" from anyone?

Pictures with DiAnna

Yesterday we went to DiAnna's house for Addie's studio pictures. Well...we started in her backyard studio, which was the most beautiful garden tucked behind her house. It was so peaceful. I had brought a tutu for Addie to wear for her 1st birthday pictures...and these portraits turned out more beautiful than I could have ever imagined!!! This 1st one is my favorite!

Happy Birthday outfit and balloons!

Mmmmm! One finger...lick, two fingers...lick lick, a whole hand...big lick, a foot, an arm...she was covered! This cake picture is priceless...she was so covered in icing that I had to put her in the bathtub, right there! She had a blast! I love her eyes here!

Thank you DiAnna for these wonderful memories!

Christmas Portraits with DiAnna

Part of our 1st year photo package we are doing with DiAnna includes a Christmas portrait. So today, we went to her house for these. Addie's Rie Rie and I spent most of yesterday afternoon and night (and early this morning) finishing up her dresses. Thank goodness my mom, unlike me, is a quick "seamstress!"

all eyes! her winter dress...had to have something blue!

her little mice Christmas dress
all she wanted to do was play with these blocks! it's a miracle she wasn't trying to grab them here. her hand is posed and ready though!

my all time favorite!

6 Month Portraits

We spent Saturday morning with DiAnna at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival and Gardens taking Addie's 6 month portraits. Addie was mostly cooperative, although most of her smiles included her tongue sticking out! :) We had so much fun though! We can't wait to get the proofs!

(my favorite!)

DiAnna had a wonderful idea, starting with Addie's 3 month portraits, to take Addie's picture on a bench in a park in front of 1st United Methodist Church in Old Cloverdale (near where we live) and watch her grow.

(here she is in her 3 month portrait session)

DiAnna was so brave and let us bring Abbey and Mollie to the Old Cloverdale park for our photo shoot. We are so thankful she's an animal lover too!!!

Make sure to check out DiAnna's blog and website to see more of her beautiful work!
She also has one handsome grandson who just turned 6 months old!

3 Month Portraits

We were so excited to do Addie's 3 Month pictures with DiAnna Paulk last week. It was a gorgeous day, and we visited two beautiful nearby Cloverdale (our neighborhood) parks for the shoots. I think you can click on any of the pictures to make them bigger (and easier to see). If not, go to her blog (see link below) to view them that way. Here are a few of DiAnna's favorites:

On a bench in front of the huge tree in the middle of the park across from First United Methodist Church.

DiAnna plans to take Addie's other pictures (I think 6 month, Christmas (which will be 9 months for Addie) and 12 month) here so we can watch her grow up on this bench! What a fun idea! I love it that she caught her foot in the air!

This is an outfit my mom and I made for Addie because Paul thought the smocked cow was so cute! Although she smiles ALL the time, this was one of the few shots i think we got her to smile for!

At first, I wasnt sure I like this picture surrounded by the beautiful colors of the other shots. But once I looked at it in isolation, I thought it was so unique and made her eyes look so vibrant!

Make sure to check out her blog and website to see more of her great work!
