Memorial Day

Memorial Day is about way more than grilling out and swimming. I think one of my most favorite group of Memorial Day posts was done by the Pioneer Woman. All pictures. (make sure to scroll down to see the numerous posts with this topic). All depicting some form of Coming Home. It was a beautiful method, with many interpretations, to demonstrate in a very small way the appreciation we have for the men and women who are serving our country both currently and in the past. And the pictures tell all. Moving. Thank you for fighting for our freedom and working to ensure it remains that way for our precious children!!!

We did get to spend a fun Memorial Day with some friends from Addie's Kindermusik class though. It started out as a beautiful day, rained, got fairly humid, and rained a little more.

But while it was pretty, everyone had fun outside!

Our friend's not only have a fabulous playground (as Addie calls it) but also a pool! Here she is literally diving into the water. Thankfully, her Daddy was fast enough and caught her!

Take a careful look at this next set of pictures. No. Not the Florida Gators flag. That's just what showed up because the picture was back lit by the windows. There's an indoor basketball game in the right hand corner. ALL 6 or 7 of the Daddy's were in the game room either standing around or playing this game...with at least 5 of our kiddos out there with them! When I went out to take a picture, they SCATTERED and started tending to our little ones. Really, no one needed supervising out there...well, maybe. But it was just funny how they all scattered!

It certainly turned out to be a fun day even with the rain!
